Sony PRS-300RC Battery Installation Instructions

The following are the Sony PRS-300RC Battery Replacement Instruction guide.

1. Begin by removing all the screws at the top and base and back of your Sony.
 
2. Next using the pry tool remove the plastic frame/seal from the outside frame of the device.

3. Next detach the clips holding the back cover. Use your pry tool to help detach the clips. The clips hold the back cover in place.
 
4. Now remove the back cover.

5. Disconnect and remove the battery by using the pry tool to lift the battery up and out.

6. Replace the old battery with a brand new Sony PRS-300RC Battery Replacement from BatteryShip.com.
 
Now let's reverse our steps.

7. Replace the back cover and snap into clips.

8. Carefully snap on the plastic frame/seal to the outside frame of the device.

Garmin Nuvi 1690T Battery Installation Instructions

The following instructions may can be used to install a Garmin Nuvi 1690T Battery.

1. Begin by turning your Nuvi face down. On the bottom of the Nuvi there will be 2 screws hidden under the label. Peel back the label to reveal these two screws.
 
2. Remove the two screws.
 
3. Next using the pry tool provided in your tool kit gently open the GPS by carefully separating the 2 halves (slide the pry tool all around the edge until the halves come apart). CAUTION as you open the the 2 sides (on the inside) they will be connected by cables. So please be careful not to rip apart the 2 halves.

4. After opening the two halves you will see 4 screws that hold the circuit board in place. Remove these four screws to access the battery. A small plastic piece may come out during the replacement. This piece is the power switch. Do not worry it is normal. We will put it back in during step 9.
 
5. Carefully lift up the circuit board to access the original battery.
 
6. Disconnect the original battery and pry it up. Garmin uses an adhesive to hold the Nuvi battery in place. Use the pry bar provided to help pry up the battery.
 
7. Place a brand new Garmin Nuvi 1690T Battery from BatteryShip into the device and connect the new battery to the circuit board. The battery should be oriented the same as the original.
 
Now let's reverse our steps.
 
8. Return the circuit board to its original position and replace the four screws to secure the circuit board.
 
9. A small plastic piece may have come out during the replacement. This piece is the power switch. Place the switch back into place. Now put the 2 halves of the GPS together and gently snap in place.
 
10. Carefully lift the label at the base of your Nuvi and replace the two screws removed in step 2.
 
11. Charge your Garmin Nuvi 1690T Battery for four hours. Then turn on your Garmin.

The following instructions may can be used to install a Garmin Nuvi 1690 Battery.

1.  Begin by removing the four screws on the back of your Magellan. The four screws are hidden under 4 rubber caps. To remove the caps use the pry tool to carefully lift them (or a sharp metal object). After the rubber caps are removed then remove the screws.
 
2. Next using the pry tool carefully slide the pry tool around the plastic cover that holds the screen and circuit board in place. This will open the device.

3. With the pry tool carefully lift up the screen and circuit board. Go slowly here. You do not want to cause any damage to the charging port.
 
4. Next disconnect the original battery to open the two sides.
